From the time of the ancient Greeks, who believed the god Hephaestus crafted Hermes' winged helmet and Achilleus' armor at his forge, to the present day, the craft of the blacksmith is little changed. The principal hand tools of the smith remain the hammer, anvil, and tongs. The artisans at Whitesmith & Company also employ a full metal fabrication shop, with a forge, to aid in the manufacture of their outstanding metalwork.
Materials include copper, bronze, stainless steel, and iron. Finishes may be polished, satin, or antiqued using a variety of special techniques. We also employ specialty paint finishes. All works are fabricated to the specifications of the client.
